Angry Birds

'Tis the birthday season! At least in my circle of friends that is...My son is invited to multiple birthday parties, one of which is for a huge Angry Birds fan. I could not but make him an Angry Birds themed birthday card.

The bird is made out of cardstock with round punches of various sizes and a square punch for the beak. I cut out a Y shape out of brown cardstock by hand and then embossed it so it looks like wood. Added twine to complete the sling effect. Used the Martha Stewart edge punch to create grass.

Have an excellent night!

You're So Special To Me...

Well, well, well....it's been a while, and while I have been creating, I have not necessarily been diligently posting my creations. So, it's time to dust off the trusty ol' blog here and write a post or two.

I really wanted to make a shaped card, and Cricut came in very handy to accomplish that goal. My Favorite Things border die, Martha Stewart butterfly punch and a Bo Bunny flower combined with Prima pearls round off the look.

Have a fantastic night!

Longest time no post! It's been a quite a while! I do have the best excuse in the world: a brand new baby keeping me busy!

I do find myself missing my cards. As well wishes and generous gifts pour in, I take it as a perfect excuse to make cards in those very rare moments I get to step into my craft area, so expect lots of baby themed thank you notes in the near future...such as this one:

Ink: Memento in Denim

Birthday Cupcake

It's one of those cards that you have dancing in your head as a vision...it's one of those cards that you just have to go transform into paper as soon as you get 15 minutes to yourself  (and it doesn't take longer than that)...it's just one of those cards

Made with freshly released Doodlebugs, Inc. paper and doodle pop. Made for my son's friend from school. She turns 5 right around Valentine's Day.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Doodlebugs, Inc
Embellishments: Doodle pop, buttons, MS edge punch

Have a sweet evening!

May the 4 Be with You

Ohhhh, you don't know how much I love Star Wars! ...and you don't know how much I love a good pun! So, when I finally thought out the design of this card, I was just giddy with excitement!

The excitement and design fever started with a birthday invitation for my son's friend's birthday party. As always, I inquired about his favorite character, expecting Cars or Thomas. You can't imagine my surprise and joy when I heard: Legos, Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Wow! Much kudos and respect to his parents to raising him right :)!

I was going to go with a Lego themed gift and card at first, but that did not work out. What took shape was a Star Wars themed gift, which was calling for a Star Wars themed card. I remembered that Wiggles and Giggles (who else!!?) carries Star Wars themed paper and that's only one of the reasons why that place is so awesome. I went there and Master Yoda themed paper was the one that I took home.

Now here's the kick: my son's friend turns 4. So, there I sat and had an aha! moment. 4... four...force...May the Force be with You, no wait, May the 4 be with You!!! Haha, perfect! Genius, if you ask me :)! (Humble, too ;))

Supplies:
Cardstock: Imaginisce, silver, cream
Embellishments: 1 3/8" round punch, Cricut, MS glitter pen (silver), Millenium pen (black)

May the force be with you!

In a "Punchy" Mood

Those who know me as a crafty person, know that I love, love...wait, no, adore border punches.I won't say no to a fabulous corner punch either, but edge punches are my passion. I have lots of them and never seem to grow tired of them. If anything, as time goes on I keep finding more and more ways to use them.

I will be sharing some of my tips and tricks at the upcoming "On the Edge" class I created to be taught at Wiggles and Giggles. Since this class has been offered at different times of the year, I've been creating different samples to go with it. This time around, it was time to feature a Valentine's Day card.

There's not a single drop of ink, nor a spot of marker on this card. It's been made entirely with punches and one very pretty (if I do say so myself) embossing folder.

This flower has, too, been created with help of an edge punch. Several rows of punched pattern attached to each other and then tightly would to create the blossom. Easy, peasy and tons of fun!

Supplies:

Cardstock: cream and ruby
Embellishments: Life Crafts (former Quickutz brand) embossing folder, MS large edger punch, MS edge punch, EK Success large punch, pearl

Have a wonderful day!
